How many bloggers have browsed other blogs or articles posted online or on social media that inspired them to write an article or a guest post. Now how many bloggers give credit in their article to the blogger and original article that inspired you?

Bloggers should always share the love when they find or read something of interest on another site that inspired an article or a post and you should do this for the following reasons.

    Reason 1 – Respect

It is respectful to the other blogger or writer that you credit them with providing you the idea, especially if you paraphrase some of their work or use it to illustrate a point you are trying to make. By showing this respect you will find respect paid back, you will increase your reputation as a reputable blogger and this will spread. When blogging reputation is very important.

    Reason 2 – Attention

This may give your article some additional attention, if the original article you are linking back to notices the backlink or you mention to them casually that you enjoyed their article and it inspired yours, there is a chance that author will promote or mention your article on a social media outlet which can lead to more traffic and attention to your own article as a result.

Don’t do this for your primary reason but consider this a potential benefit, not every blogger will point back to you (you can’t expect the giants like Chris Brogan to mention every site that talks about his latest post and backlinks to his site).

    Reason 3 – Personality

By sharing what you are reading and what inspired you to write your content which quoted, talked about or debated then you are showing your readers content that was of interest to you. This shows a little insight to your personality as a blogger and what you read online. The more popular you are this can become influential and you might even steer readers to become followers of the new site and article. We all know famous celebrities who mention one product or service and suddenly business booms 1000% just for being mentioned.

    Summary

When inspired to write a post after reading an article or even a news story it is always good to cite the original blogger or article that inspired you. I write almost one article a week that just promotes a site or article that I read online on another blog.

How many of you share your inspirations with your readers?

Blogging alone is a long hard boring rode.

I agree with the boring, there is such a vibrant community and most bloggers are particularly friendly people who are willing to help and share their experiences.
