The online child pornography business is a 20 billion dollar business, according to ABC's "Good Morning America". Kids and teens need to absolutely understand that posting photos of themselves online plays right into pornographers hands.

The photos that your kids and teenagers post on social networking sites such as Myspace, which boasts a subscribership of 72 million, may seem innocent to them, but in terms of teenage internet safety or myspace safety, these supposed innocent pictures, in addition to those shots which are provacative, are making considerable money to kiddie porn sellers. Additionally, unless you're a buyer of these images, you won't even know that your child's photo is out there. Teens don't realize the risks they're taking with their safety and that of their family.

Key to kid and teenage internet safety is for them not to post any photos of themselves online. Unfortunately, the reality is that there's no slowing in sight. In fact, kids and teens regularly post photos of themselves online to share with their friends. So, what to do?

Since the child pornography and child trafficking business is on the rise, the key to preventing it's explosive growth is education and outreach. You and your kids and teens need to know the facts about the current internet landscape and the strategies needed to be safe. This information needs to presented not just once, but repeatedly and often.
