I live in Omaha, Nebraska....yesterday, December 6, 2006 was a day that all Omahans will remember. Westroads, our busiest and best known shopping mall was the scene of 9 murders and 1 suicide.
None of my immediate family were involved. But we still don't know who the names of the 9 who were killed. I can see the Westroads from my home, and until the names are listed in the paper, I will not know if any of my friends were among the dead.

(2007...)
And my boyfriend lives in Omaha actually, and was absolutely shocked that it'd happen there. He'd been listening to the updates for a few hours and then headed to work....only to hear on the radio just a few seconds before he turned down a certain road, that it's where the shooter had been staying. There were tons of cop cars, etc, and traffic was being detoured slightly. It's crazy when something like that happens so close to home. I hope none of your friends were in there at the time and my heart goes out to all of those effected by this. |
