I am using Blogger classic.
I keep reading about this mandatory migration to beta. When will that happen. I'd actually like to try to migrate to beta now, if it would mitigate the problems I'm having. If you have the link to the how-to migrate from classic to beta, I'm willing to try that.
In Blogger, every time I publish I get a "There were errors" message, with a reference to an archive page. I just emailed the Blogger folks to see what they advise. |

Hello texasjefe42
Welcome back!
Well you do realize if you switch to Beta Blogger there is no undoing it!
Meaning if you decide to switch to WordPress or Texpad etc you cant import your content and it will have to be done all manually?
Once you switch to beta blogger theres no way to just transfer to another platform!
But if you want to give it a try go to the following URL! But don't say I didnt warn you!
Also be sure to read the help logs about many of the popular topics on stats counters and other related info as you can't just install a stats counter you need to use widgets!
https://beta.blogger.com/start
Simply login or register to start the switch to beta blogger!

I hear ya.
I had done an automatic migration to the default wordpress when I was first trying it -- I learned that i did not like the template style. Anyhow, I saw how much the migration captured, and it appeared that a bunch needed to be cleaned up.
But I'll hold off for the moment, wit the thought being that I'm moving toward wordpress anyhow.
Blogger seems to finally be cleaning up some on its own, telling me that alot of our problems were on google's end. There are still issues though, and that's why I was thinking in the short term of just moving it to beta for now, if that would make it so my friend woul dnot have to fight the software every time. |

I do not recommend migrating to Blogger Beta not until the bugs are fixed out any way. You would be best to create a dummy blog to test the new features which blogger offers.
Also note that you will not be able to include your own forum and all the other features that you were looking to add to your blog if you decide to go with blogger.
Also like Shawn said you will be unable to import your posts from beta to Wordpress if you decide to switch.
Blogger should be moving all users to the new platform in about two weeks so if anyone is thinking about switching platforms they better do so now. _________________ Help Support Blogger Talk Blogging Community|
