What is splog?
A definition from Whatis.com
"A splog (spam blog) is a fake blog created solely to promote affiliated Web sites, with the intent of skewing search results and artificially boosting traffic."

Splog "A blog site set up for the sole purpose of increasing page ranking in Google. The splog may contain very little content of value, but provides a link to the Web site or sites that it is promoting."
You are correct that you do not have to go there, however they have a large impact on the blogosphere. Sploggers are known for ripping other people’s content. Sploggers have violated my rights on more than one occasion by scraping my content.
