You will want to include keywords in the meta tag which relates to your blog.
Many first time bloggers use irrelevant Keywords. Be sure to choose the right keywords that relate to your blog. Be specific. Think about the words that web surfers will be typing to find your blog.
You should not add any more than 20 keywords to your meta tag.
You can use our meta tag generator

<META NAME="AUTHOR" CONTENT="Your Name">
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="ALL">
<META NAME="COPYRIGHT" CONTENT="Copyright © by your name">
<META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="List of Keywords separated by comma.">
<META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="Description of your blog">
Optimize your posts for search engines. Use your keywords in the title of your post and in the body of your blog posts.
I suggest subscribing to Word Tracker. Their report of the most popular searches is published each Tuesday and distributed to over 30,000 subscribers.

Technorati.com , is a blog search engine that also lists the searched for words. The more targeted your keywords are, the greater your return
in search engines will be.
You could also add tags to your blog posts, like Technorati Tags, which are keywords.
See "Technorati Tags" http://www.technorati.com/tag/

You keywords should definitely be relevant to your content.
There are a few things to note.
Many bloggers forget the alt attribute in tags: Search engines cannot read images, therefore the alt image tag helps the search engines understand the subject of the image. Be sure to include the alt attribute with every image that you add to your blog.
Ex: | Code: | | <img src= "Rose.gif" alt="Red Rose"> |
Whatever you do, don't use "click here" or other non-descriptive link text. I'm guilty of this one myself. Proper anchor text can help your ranking. Your anchor text should describe the page that you're linking to.
Anchor text is extremely important to your ranking.
What would you say the top 20 keywords that describe your blog are and how many times have you used those words on your blog? _________________ Help Support Blogger Talk Blogging Community|
