Although a newbie to this site and to the world of blogging in general I would be particularly interested to know how you got started and what do you get out of it on a personal level. Damn, am I one deep fella or what,lol!
Personally, I kickstarted my blogging habit after the suggestion of a friend that knows how fond I am of writing short stories of various content. He said "you know since you get a kick out of it you might as well put your writing out there on the web just for the fun of it". Well I havent looked back since! I regard blogging (both in my native language, Greek, and in English) a really good practise in the use of written language. Before I started blogging, I was always too lazy to formulate my ideas into extended written pieces. However, blogging is such a creative process that keeps you interested in writing even though my blog is more light hearted compared to what I intend to write in the future.
Still, if I wanted to sum up the reasons that I blog it would come down to two things:
1)I want to let some steam out of the frustrations of every day living (thankfully not by whining,lol)
2)I want to make people smile and why not laugh if possible (it is a sucky job, the hours are crap, pay is non-existent and I am not sure if I am any good at it, but what the heck I am giving it a shot ,lol)
Oh look at me got carried away,heh. Oh the excitement of the newbie what can you, what can you do,lol! |

My old flat mate introduced me to the world of blogs. I spent a while reading them and then became hooked enough to create my own. I've been doing it for over a year now.
I enjoy writing posts that I find funny and if other people find them funny too that is even better. Plus.... I'm a bit of a show off :p

| I got into blogging because I love to talk politics. I wanted to talk politics with people whose views I might not otherwise get. One of the unintended results is that defending my views has helped crystallize those views. |

I was introduced to blogging when I joined my first job as a content developer. I blog:
- to keep track of whatever I have learned
- to share my feelings
- to let others know whatever I am thinking
- to maintain it as my online profile

I too enjoy writing. I suppose that is why I have my current blog up and running. However, I am politically motivated to offer my opinions on International and National (US) topics and thus, that is another reason the blog exists.
I also recently found some widgets that allow people in the US to immediately reach Congress and other lawmakers using their own Zip Codes. Some of these selections immediately transport the person to relevant topics considered by the government, and thus, hopefully, people here will become more aware of our policies and put in their feedback. So there is a motivation to get people more involved in the political process.
I haven't really gotten into heavily promoting the blog, other than receiving help here about meta tags and generally making the site look better. As such, I am thankful for the people here for their advice.
Finally, I had another site for a while. Completely different process. I was amazed to find it's still out there. It has a couple of short stories I wrote on it, if you'd care to have a look and offer an opinion. It is located at:
