Beta is defined as “a version of an application that is made available prior to the official release for the purposes of testing.” Therefore it is no surprise that Blogger Beta would come with many errors and bugs that the blogger team at Google is still trying to work out. Bloggers were so quick to switch from the regular platform to beta that they never took in to consideration that their might be problems. One blogger posted to Google groups asking if anyone was interested in launching a class action law suit against Google Blogger. My thoughts are that it’s a free service. You either use it or you don't. There are several other blogging platforms out there. Google was offering existing Blogger users the option to test-drive the beta. If you signed up to be a Guinea Pig than that’s your problem. I think that those who switched need to carefully consider what beta means before being so quick to test drive something in the future. _________________ Help Support Blogger Talk Blogging Community|

I'm actually a software tester by trade and deal with beta builds every day. I think it's total madness that there could be a law suit against blogger...!? You accept the use of a beta version of software with all the caveats that it entails.
Personally I set up a trial blog to see what the beta version was like. I pretty soon realised that there were issues and backed slowly away. I'll come back in a few weeks when things are a bit more stable. _________________ www.spitfiredesignstudio.com (business)

I was thinking of making the switch when it first came out but then I realized it would not be such a good idea, of course its going to have bugs. If it didn't have bugs it would not be a beta.
I work for a computer game company and for us it usually goes:
Alpha: Feature but not content complete, will still have lots of bugs and is never given to the public
Beta: Feature and content complete, will still have bugs and might be given to the public for 'testing.' Sometimes there are only a certain number given out. By agree to use the product in this stage the public understand and agree to the fact that it will not work completely as it should.
Gold: In theory everything is fine and dandy and the product can be let out safely to all. Any bugs with it can be patched. _________________
