| I have created a new blog (my first) and I would like to use it as a discussion forum on my church's website - I'd like people to be able to be able to leave their own posts (prayer requests and celebrations, etc.). I don't want people to need to ask permission first and I don't want it to look like I authored each post. Perhaps it is more like a discussion forum. Is this possible? |

| Yes I'm using Blogger, but I don't want to have to add the authors ahead of time because I don't know who they will be. People need to be able to pop on any time and leave their postings (not only comment to an existing post). Does that make sense? |

| I think you are right. The reason I started a blog page within the existing website was so I could offer an automatic feed (because no one could tell me how to do that). So yes, what I need is a forum with an RSS feed to share updates automatically. I actually already have a FrontPage discussion forum and even a feed but I need something that updates and sends notifications automtically to those who join the feed. www.fccpuyallup.com Prayer Chapel |

Hello robinsan
I understand you need an RSS feed built for your forums?
I can definetly help you with this, I have created multiple formats for my site(s) and Roses.
Do you have a forum already installed? If so please provide a link so I may take a look. If not I can install one for you, and then build an RSS feed to go along with it.
I took a look at your Prayer Chapel and its more of a Tag Board rather then a forum.....
Let me know,

Hi Shawn,
How nice of you to offer your help! Any suggestions are welcome.
What I need is essentially what I have (Prayer Chapel) at www.fccpuyallup.com. It was created by the previous webmaster via FrontPage. In FP they call it a 'discussion web' I think. We need a place where any visitor can post whenever they want without individual invitation (but currently we have a verification word which is helpful to keep spambots away).
Beyond that I would like for people to be able to subscribe to an automatically updated feed to alert them when new posts are submitted.
As it is now, we remove posts as needed (since they are prayer requests they remain on the website for 2-3 weeks).
Does this help? |
