Okay time for a new topic in this section...
As I'm here at work today, I've had to create some mailing labels for clients and consultants and one of the consultants works in a town in Texas with an amusing name. So I thought I'd share it here and ask if anyone else either lives in or knows of a town with a funny name.

You know, I've always said that if I move to England I want to live either in a town with a funny name or on a street with a funny name....
Here in Louisiana there's a town called Bunkie. It was named after the first mayor's daughter's stuffed animal monkey. She couldn't say the word monkey... _________________ Complex Femme

All you dirty minded people, I swear!
I've always thought Truth or Consequences, NM was interesting, though a real pain in the arse to have to write out on a small envelope. Especially if you have a tendency to write big. _________________ Complex Femme

I've always thought Florala, AL was a funny name. The town is located on the state line of Florida and Alabama so I guess they just combined parts of the two states to come up with the name.
Could be worse I guess. Could have been Alarida, Al. Well actually that name sort of rolls off the tongue and has a nice alliteration and rhythm to it so maybe they made a mistake, lol.
Florala is not too very far from Opp, AL which I believe has the town motto "The City of OPPortunity'" . _________________ Baker Watson
