How much attention do you pay to the Alexa traffic ranking?
I wouldn't bother paying too much attention to the Alexa traffic ranking.
Alexa is not all that accurate. I also know about Compete.com, and Ranking.com too. None of these sites are 100 % accurate.
I came across a blog last month that had an excellent Alexa ranking yet not one backlink in Google and it didn't have any comments on the blog.
Jill Whalen owner of High Rankings states “Alexa gets its rankings data from browsers that have the Alexa toolbar installed. That's a fairly small sampling, as well as a skewed one, as many Web-savvy individuals feel that having the toolbar is akin to having spyware on your system. Because of this, any info you get from Alexa needs to be taken with a grain of salt.”
