| I write my own blog. However, I also write a monthly post on another blog and a weekly post on a third blog. I have occasionally reused material across the blogs. I know this is common in the magazine industry. Has anyone else ever done this on the blogger side? Did it help generate any traffic to your blog? Did it ever burn you? |

Google PR hit is one issue.
Search engine hits is another. If someone finds what they need at my site and continues researching through Google, I don't want them seeing duplicate info.
It'd be leaving the same taste in their mouth that the plagerists or 'no thought reworded' product reviewers do.
If they don't remember my name or prior URL, seeing duplicated information would make them think my site was a plagerist's work.
Just sayin'.
...now if a person wanted to be a shark and try Ad-Sensing their way to the underworld when they die...and if they didn't get caught and canned...sure, self duplicating 'can' be a way for some possible 'cash cloning'.
But it can also get a person banned from some marketing campaign sites/agencies.
...I have no idea what I'm saying and this conversation never happened.
Forum Signature ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I´m not really a bad person, I just sometimes blog that way.

I only tried 'Zimbio' to allow post-import (as in magazine style); while excerpts for some community sites. As when it comes to writing, I never re-use the materials, definitely not word-for-word. I think if you plan to re-discuss the subject, you can change another presentation style, rewrite it and have it link to your other blogs instead. That will be more beneficial in terms of unique content and visibility. Fresh is always better. |

| I have done it sometimes. My blog, Homesteading On The Internet is about modern homesteading and covers using solar as my energy source as well as other homesteading subjects. Many of my readers come from homesteading forums. But this blog seems to interest women more than men. Solar Baby is about how to set up a small, affordable energy system so sometimes the same information is relevant to both. Since many times it is technical information, I have to use the same wording to explain it. Although sometimes I change the wording to make it more appealing for whichever readers I am writing for. |

| I don't remember if I actually re-word an article or blog post. But most likely I use those articles as resources and re-link them to the new posts. |

| I also have a blog, but I recommend to post more often rather than weekly or monthly. I prefer to post like trice a week and google seems to like it so they crawl more often to my blog. |

Or if you have a blogging package with ad-ons/plugins, use a plugin that pings the various sites each time you post, and they will crawl you every time you post! |
