I write my own blog. However, I also write a monthly post on another blog and a weekly post on a third blog. I have occasionally reused material across the blogs. I know this is common in the magazine industry. Has anyone else ever done this on the blogger side? Did it help generate any traffic to your blog? Did it ever burn you?

Google PR hit is one issue.

Search engine hits is another. If someone finds what they need at my site and continues researching through Google, I don't want them seeing duplicate info.

It'd be leaving the same taste in their mouth that the plagerists or 'no thought reworded' product reviewers do.

If they don't remember my name or prior URL, seeing duplicated information would make them think my site was a plagerist's work.

Just sayin'.

...now if a person wanted to be a shark and try Ad-Sensing their way to the underworld when they die...and if they didn't get caught and canned...sure, self duplicating 'can' be a way for some possible 'cash cloning'.

But it can also get a person banned from some marketing campaign sites/agencies.

...I have no idea what I'm saying and this conversation never happened.

I only tried 'Zimbio' to allow post-import (as in magazine style); while excerpts for some community sites. As when it comes to writing, I never re-use the materials, definitely not word-for-word. I think if you plan to re-discuss the subject, you can change another presentation style, rewrite it and have it link to your other blogs instead. That will be more beneficial in terms of unique content and visibility. Fresh is always better. icon_smile.gif
