I was thinking about how I could tidy up the design of my blog. And I realized the archive links of past months on the sidebar are pointless..?
Can I ask, when you go to someone's blog do you ever click on the list of past months to see what they've written? I'm not sure how anyone else uses them.. I tend to click back through their previous posts, or I browse through the categories. I don't click on the archives at all, do you?
I'm thinking about removing the list of past months from the side of my blog. I'll just have a link off to another page that has all the past months listed there. It'll defiantly tidy up the look of my blog.
I'm not sure if anyone actually clicks on them? Anyone have an opinion about removing them? _________________ NZ Protagonist - My screenwriting blog.

Personally I use the catagories if I'm looking through the old posts, that way I'm seeing the posts related to whatever the catagory is for. Using the month archives would show everything in a random order and would be harder to follow I suppose.
I can see your point although I've never thought about it until I read this and might probably remove these links on mine as well now. _________________ Bob! |

| When I stumble across a blog I really like or want to review a blog, I'll use their archives. I don't like it when they're messy archives, though...listed by month is quite sufficient and it sure beats seeing every single entry broken down into months and weeks, especially if they post a lot. It wouldn't hurt anything at all to remove the archives from the side bar and just link them on another page. |

Sometimes I like to click back to the start of a blog and see how it all started so I find the archive very useful on other blogs. _________________

| I caught myself looking at some of the past months tabs on blogs this weekend. I was mainly doing it to see how long those blogs had been around, and if they seem to post regular or not. Don't konw if this helps. |

Thanks. I think the list of past months just adds clutter to the page as it makes a whole bunch of text that a lot of the time someone doesn't want to look at.
So I think I'll move my archives onto their separate page. I'll probably usethat WordPress Clean Archives plugin. Thanks Rose _________________ NZ Protagonist - My screenwriting blog.

Hmm I wasn't sure what you meant by cutline so I looked it up... And it looks incredibly interesting. Is it like a fully supported and updated theme or something? That's cool _________________ NZ Protagonist - My screenwriting blog.
