I was reading a blog today. Well the blogger Mister Anchovy actually linked to my blog. His friend suggested that he try "20 clicks."
The right term for it is Blog Hopping.
Blog hopping is to move from one blog after another read the entries and leave comments. I do this all the time.
So what I want you to do is start with one blog, follow a link from that blog to the next blog to the next blog leaving comments until you finish surfing to 20 blogs. This is a great way to meet new bloggers and get traffic back to your blog.
Then on your blog, record where your blog hopping journey took you.
You can make this into a weekly thing where you surf the net and blog about interesting finds. Who knows I might just start at your blog.

| I absolutely adore blog hopping. Not only does it create a bit of traffic, I've also met some great people this way! |

| I've tried looking at other blogs on blogger by clicking the next button and I haven't found things that interest me. I think I will take your suggestion to click on links that other people like. Perhaps it will be more suited to my taste. Thanks for the suggestion! |

Stopping back by...
Another technique for blog hopping is to take a well traveled blog and hop to all the blogs of people who have commented in their last post or two. This way, you know that those people are accustomed to commenting, and when they follow your comment back to your blog, they're more likely to comment back. |

| I like Jessi's idea. I am going to try that one today and see how it goes. I have done the 20 blogs in the past, but sometimes it is an endurance test. |

This is a great idea!
Now that I have a start to my blogs in terms of formatting, I need to focus on getting the word out. I'm going to try this today!
thanks...

For some reason, every time I click the 'next blog' button, 9 out of 10 of the blogs I'm shown are in a language I don't speak. It's a tad bit frustrating to have to click 'next blog' 25 times just to be able to read 4 blogs, lol.
(That average, btw, is what I did and counted right before I came to this thread to report it.)
Has anybody else experienced this, or is it just me?
Anyway, I'm off to try it again |
Yeah, that can be frustrating, but I haven't done it 'that' way in a long time. Instead, I'm a member of a couple different places. BestestBlog offers a link exchange so that as long as you have a link on your page, your blog is put into the pool, and they have a "next" feature just like Blogger....except that they're all in English and they're all from people who took the time to sign up, so it's a lot easier to find good material. Another place I really like is MyBlogLog, which makes it fairly easy to bloghop from one to the next. Again, clicking from link to link 'within' various blogs will get you places faster, too (after all, if a place is linked on a site you already like, then 'someone' else must have liked them, and it's more likely to be in your language and fairly up-to-date). One more suggestion is to blog hop through forums like this one....people who have taken the time to try to find more resources or to get their name out there, are more likely to track back to your blog. |
