You can try DMOZ.org too.
It's an open directory and submission is manually sorted by persons.
I'm still waiting to have my blogs listed there.
Google Blog Search is also good one. You submit at http://blogsearch.google.com/ping

There are a lot of greats ones out there for women. Blogher and Blogs by Women come to mind. I get a fair amount of traffic from Blogher.
