I use Opera.

It's got everything that firefox does, and more, and it used less RAM, and the pages render faster, AND it's got inbuilt mouse gestures. icon_biggrin.gif

I use IE 7 and love the tabs. I was using Firefox to surf and IE 6 for my financial stuff, because some of it required IE. Now that IE 7 has tabs, I rarely use Firefox.

I always use FireFox now. I used to use internet explorer for some things, but since the upgrade to IE7, I haven't touched it. I have noticed that the program (for me) is very sluggish and takes time to do things that firefox does instantly. For example, opening a new tabs is effortless with firefox, but there is a large delay with IE7, a delay that I cannot tolerate.

I use Opera except where IE is required. I like Opera's ability to organize, simple to set-up and it's pretty much pop-up free. I also don't get allot of unwanted cookies and trackers.

Is there anyone who knows about FireFox but still chooses IE for general browsing???

...there's probably just a few. But I think the general opinion is that the tech minded people who know about FireFox use it. But most people just don't know FireFox exists, IE comes installed on their comp so they go with it...

I use both. and both have their advantages. I go through IE to get to my blog directly, and I can create a site feed from my blog directly to my IE personalized Google desktop. i could do that in FireFox as well, but it was already available and Google own blogger, so I thought it would be better.

I see no special advantage to FireFox. IE has tabs now also, but I'm not enamored with tabs either, so no thrill there.

Thats it ... I use firefox with a lot of extensions (no doubt).
why?
Perhaps because I am getting fire and fox to explore internet for me...
Actually it helps me dissect a web page easily. Firefox is always a better option for web developers..no doubt about that.

My main browser is Firefox. I prefer it for the following:

* Tabs - can't live without them. At any given time I can have 10-30 tabs open.
* Session restore - I was using an extension for this before the latest Firefox version but this was a godsend.
* Extensibility - Extensions allow you to add functionality to Firefox

That said, the new IE looks pretty good but not enough for me to move back to it.

Sites that don't function properly in Firefox are frustrating and there is an extension for Firefox that helps with some if not all of these sites called IE Tab. It lets you load the IE rendering engine within a specific Firefox tab.

Apart from that, I use it to verify my blog's rendering. Currently, I test in Firefox 1.5 & 2.x, Internet Explorer 6 & 7, Opera 9 and Safari (MacOS).

Regards,

Rob

I used Firefox as my browser... I think firefox is the best browser to be used if you're a blogger or an SEO.. you can easily add some add-ons...

Firefox for me too. Although I use IE 6 and 7 for web development. I also use the IE tab which is really handy, but for web dev, firefox and all the really usefull extensions (dom inspector, web dev toolbar) are unbeatable.

I'm running on a mac, so have to fire up vmware to us IE and IEtab for firefox, but it's cool.

My only problem is the memory usage, but am so attached to all the extensions i dont wanna use anything else.

I use IE just cus I'm too lazy to use anything else. Tried Firefox a few years back, but it really didn't seem all that different to me.

Give it another try. It has changed so much in the last few years. It's not just the tabbed browsing that helps, (which you can get in IE now), there are so many addons, which make browsing so much easier, interesting and all round better. It's more secure than IE too.

I'm slightly biased I must admit, as it is just much harder designing websites to work on IE than on Firefox.
