I'm working on a new theme for my blog and right now I'm up to where I want to create a kick ass header banner, but my image skills aren't anywhere near pro enough icon_sad.gif

I found this image of Avril Lavigne, which is pretty much my inspiration. The background is prefect for the way I want the design of my own banner. The texture and the gray color scheme is exactly what I want to achieve:



...but I'm not that masterful in photoshop.

I want to create something very similar to the gray background. Does anyone have any tips about how it was done? Or even point me to any tutorials covering that type of thing?? Thanks icon_smile.gif

Have you searched the tutorials at http://www.good-tutorials.com/?

They may have even created this image in Jasc Paint shop using layers.
