I was wondering what everyone thought about putting ads on the blog, like Google Ads. Is it simple? How are you paid? Any advice on what way to do it? _________________ Mouse Extra |

I think it depends on what the point of your site is. I have ads on my site (amazon). I am not trying to make a living off my site, and haven't made any money from it. I have the amazon ads on there to encourage people to buy some of the books I have reviewed.
If I should make some money on my site, that would be great |

I take blogads on my personal blog because I can control them and I get paid for displaying them, not for click throughs. It's not much but it pays my hosting fees so that's good enough for me!

| How does blogads work? Skimming their site, it looks like something I may be more interested in than adsense |

I'm not clear if they're taking applications or if you have to be part of a pod (it changes -- I have no idea why). But basically you reserve part of your sidebar for ads and then you get an email when an ad is submitted. Ads pay -- well, it depends on traffic but more than adsense. (My personal blog: http://www.thiswomanswork.com gets 800 to 1200 visitors a day and I'm thinking I charge about $35 a month? I can't remember.)
When you hit $75, they pay out via paypal on the 15th of the month.
I use a host (http://www.siteground.com) that takes paypal so I just move my money right on over and that way I can justify my blogging habit!!
