I have actually posted a post similar to this article on my blog. In short, if you ignore the bastard they usually go away. If they harass you, don't be hesitant to report them.
Dealing with them would only increase sparks with these type of guys.

the article implies to the parents to be resilient in too much use of internet for kids to the point of using them in an improper way, May i share with you what ive read that in Korea, blogging and Youtube is used to insinuate massive suicide among teenagers. Cyberpolice try all the means to condemn the culprits but what made their jobs difficult is the way these kids didnt cooperate _________________ malaysia real estate Music News

There are always guys that just don't ever leave you alone no matter what you do. In those cases then you just have to weigh in your options, go to another forum or leave that particular community. _________________ Myspace Layouts

I've been harrassed through my blog on two different occasions. To the point where I started anew and shared my blog address with my friends via email and asked them not to link to me on any kind of blogroll. I revealed the scantest of information about myself on my new blog. It's only been within the last few months that I've revealed more about myself. With my new blog I signed up for Haloscan which gives the IP address of every commenter. So if it happens again, I'll be somewhat prepared.
And no, in the second case, no matter how many times I told the person to leave me alone, they would not. They walked that fine line between stalking and just being outright annoying.
The internet is a fabulous thing, but it also allows people to hide behind their computers and bully others. |

Telling them to "leave" you alone never works.
1. Ignore them as a whole (these guys thrive attention)
2. Get these guys banned for violating TOS (from whichever community or forum)
3. Get a "spam" plugin for your blog. Therefore these malicious comments will not surface
4. In extreme cases of harassment, report it to their advertisers so they won't get squat for doing harm to you. Many times, people fool around until their pockets are hurt
Best of luck,

There was no one to report anything to as you don't have to have a blog to have an account and comment on others' blogs. At first it was a matter of turning off open comments which allowed anonymous comments. Then he/she got an account, but didn't set up a blog. So my only option was what I did. |
