I have a radio show called Stump Markus in which callers ask me a marketing question and I point them in the right direction...
... And during last week's broadcast, I suggested that a blogger tweak their blog software (they use Blogger) and NOT display the blog name within the title meta tag.
As you probably know, the title meta tag is what most of the top search engines like Google and Yahoo! use to determine your rank for a search on their network. And by using the default settings, adding the blog name in the title tag slot actually dilutes your search engine optimization.
I've tried messing around with:
<$BlogTitle$>
<$BlogPageTitle$>
... But I still get the blog name within the title meta tag.
Any ideas on how display the title of the post WITHOUT having the blog name within the title meta tag. _________________ Bet you can´t stump Markus:

<title><data:blog.pageTitle/></title>

My blogger blog doesn't seem to have a title meta tag I think. |
I'm looking for an automated solution... I'd rather not hard-code the title.
I'm surprised how hard this is... I posted a similar question at bloggerforum.com and they seem stumped, too.
Any other ideas? |

This was an excellent find.
Word of warning: you must put the code ABOVE the HEAD meta tag or you will get errors. _________________ Bet you can´t stump Markus:

Just implamented this code and all seems O.K, suppose I'll find out when googlebot comes if it works
One problem though, you can't move page elements around when it's there!! _________________ http://retrotreasurehunt.blogspot.com/ |
