Do you use them?
Are they organised?
One thing that stood out to me about Stu's blog - aside from awesome graphics which I wish I had - I noticed his entry labels were limited to about a dozen categories. Does anyone else use that same sort of organisation?
I personally think my labels have gotten out of control. I've been thinking I should take a tip from Stu and reorganise my labels into a limited number of labels, which would obviously take a good deal of time on considering the number of posts I have, but I wanted to get others' opinions.
Right now all I can think of are three categories for my posts. Humour, rant, political opinion. I would probably also leave the 101 Things About Me, provided I can find my list again.

I very definitely use labels and try to limit the number I have to around a dozen. I place the list high in the sidebar so they are easy to find. I think it gives the visitor a good way to quickly see what the blog is about. It also provides a tool to them to go directly to the subjects that interest them most in a way that the archives do not. I have noticed that many visitors use the labels to browse the blog.
Most of my posts have just one or two labels with three labels generally being the maximum. Luckily, due to the subject matter of my blog, most posts will fit neatly into at least one of the dozen labels.
I don't really see the need for dozens of labels. For me a label should describe what the post is primarily about. I've seen some blogs with lots of labels listed that have only 1 or 2 entries. I'm not sure what benefit there is in such a listing. _________________ Baker Watson

At first I put labels on my sidebar but it occupies a lot of space so i removed it. But still i still have tags after every post. _________________ Study in New Zealand: Best option to Study Abroad

Before I even got a response I started chipping away at the astronomical list. I've come up with a fair number of replacement tags to categorise everything into but there are a few that don't fit any of the available ones. So when I'm done with the list once, I'll see how the rest play out.
My... perhaps your list is too long which makes it take up so much space? I have mine neatly tucked into a drop-down menu, but even there, it's bothered me for a while. _________________ Complex Femme

Okay I think I've gone through my entire list at least once and categorised things as best I could. Now I just need to figure out where the others fit. I have 9 categories thus far and do not want to go over 12, so there is room for one or two others. If any of you has time, I'd appreciate any suggestions. _________________ Complex Femme
