Rose, I'd like to have visitors be able to leave comments. I read your thread over in Blogger help with a similar problem. I haven't been able to include post comments for viewers. As a newbie myself, I'm trying to follow all this, but maybe need to start from the beginning for me. My link is candybarrartist.blogspot.com if that helps to see it.
I've gone to template and then edit HTML and not sure if I did back up correctly for starters. Dreamweavers came up.
So not sure what next. thank you so much for your patience and assistance.

HI Rose, I've done the regular thing from the beginning and retried it on many different occasions, after rebooting etc. That's where the similar problem comes in. We both aren't getting it initially, so something needs to be redone or recoded.
I became lost trying to do a back up of my template before trying to recode or reset template. Dreamweaver comes up after the edit template and I became stuck. ' ' thanks for your assistance, Candy |

Rose, It is frustrating, but I have done exactly your steps ...several times... and I do not get the comment field display option still. I only have email post and edit link. I am looking for another route to get my comment post other than the straight approach, as that has not worked.
thanks,
Candy |

| That's where we came in, I was trying to do that based on the thread of similar problem. I wanted to do a back up first, and couldn't do it. Dreamweaver came up, and I became stuck. I would like to be certain of a back up first before I try switching. |

Looks like the dreamweaver HTML file on template all there. So with my backup on desktop, what's next step? How do you suggest I edit my template?

yes, I have new template, and ready for next assignment...still no comments even after trying to play around with settings for comments. They say yes, but nothing shows up. The template seems to be identical except for my color.
We're back to the beginning where I began here, that is how do I insert some code and where, to enable viewers to comment on posts. |

| Nothing has changed, even with a new post. Could you give me a check list with a sequence of things to do? |
