What is your primary web browser and do you use more than one browser?
I use both Internet Explorer and FireFox. My computer needs to be formatted, therefore right now I’m trying not to use Internet Explorer until Shawn gets time to format it, but I’m finding that I really like Firefox. Has anyone updated their IE to the newest version and if so what do you think of it?
According to Bill Brenner of SearchSecurity.com this week, bloggers examine the security features of Firefox 2.0 and came away with some mixed reviews. Hmmm!
Security Blog Log: Dissecting Firefox 2.0
According to statistics reported at w3schools.com, Internet Explorer 6 is the most common browser, XP is the most dominating operating system, and most users are using a display with 1024x768 pixels or more.
Like I said I'm using Firefox, Windows XP and a 800 x 600 screen resolution.
So what is your browser of choice? _________________ Help Support Blogger Talk Blogging Community|

I personally use FireFox, and only for one big reason: tabs.
The tabs were the deciding factor when I first tried it out... a long time ago. With my browsing habits, I can sometimes have up to ten or twenty tabs open at once. I have gotten to the point where there's no turning back. I go insane when I am -forced- to use IE at school, as I desperately miss my ability to Ctrl+T to get a new tab.
There is also the new additions to the fox2 such as the session restore, which has already saved me a few times: in a computer crash, and when my laptop battery died.
Of course there are also a few extensions that I use, but I keep that minimal.
In brief, FireFox fits my browsing habits better than any other browser.
----------------
On the other hand, I will admit that I still use IE for when I need to have access to two different google accounts at the same time. |

I only use FF these days. If I'm working on skinning something then I will use IE to make sure it is sitting correctly, but that's it. I do have problems with FF though as it keeps deleting my bookmarks and I don't know why. Although I have gone up to version 2 recently and hoping that'll stop now. _________________ Bob! |

FireFox all the way for me. As a dyslexic person I LOVE the fact that they have integrated a spell checker into it. I no longer have to type something into a web window, copy it into word, spell check it and copy it back
FireFox for the win :p _________________

Gee, I forgot about the spell checker, that helps me so much, I never realized how much I couldn't spell until it was right in front of me.
Internet Explorer will have to do a lot to win back users.
@ScottishBlogger - Don't you wish that both browsers rendered everything the same? |

Is there anyone who knows about firefox but still chooses IE for general browsing???
...there's probably just a few. But I think the general opinion is that the tech minded people who know about firefox use it. But most people just don't know firefox exists, IE comes installed on their comp so they go with it... _________________ NZ Protagonist - My screenwriting blog.

| Actually I prefer IE 7 over Firefox 2, There are a lot of applications that I cannot use with Firefox. I am currently enrolled in online schooling and the system that they use will not support Firefox. Also the new IE does not stall as much as Firefox, the tabbed browsing is different than Firefox but it serves the same purpose. Just depends on what you are use to I guess. IE 7 is a lot faster when it comes to browsing in my opinion. |

Yea the sites that work only are IE damn annoying, they're mostly the only reason I still open up IE
I personally find firefox way faster. I think there's been tests supporting both sides, but most of them show firefox as faster. I think there has been anyway, I'm not an expert so I'm not sure about this.
Firefox is also more secure and that's a huge plus _________________ NZ Protagonist - My screenwriting blog.

I still use Firefox often, but it seems that with this computer I have here, IE 7 works a lot faster. I have had some of my friends use my computer also and ask how come my IE works faster then theirs. That is something that I cannot explain. When I click on something using my IE it is there,
Now on the other hand, IE6 is no comparison to Firefox. Firefox has that beat hands down |

| I adore firefox. I used IE for years, without even realizing there was anything else, and I was very resistant to even try firefox.....but now, any time I try to use IE, I end up having errors or it's slower, and I don't know why I stayed with it for so long. I even tried the new IE when they came out with the tabs like firefox, but firefox is still so much better. I love it. |

I too use firefox, but of course being in my line of work I use almost all the browsers to test and compare web design layouts...
I use to be a die hard IE fan but firefox seems to be much faster then the Mozilla engine..
Firefox does have its flaws though, I have noticed it won't render a page -load a page due to incorrect coding practices so therefore you assume the page is down, yet in IE it will still load..
Overall though I still prefer FireFox
