| I just wondered if I could get some more experienced blogger's advice on this. I have read about a myriad of promotional techniques and systems, some free, some paid and obviously those that cost claim to drive more traffic to your blog. I just wondered whether I should actually consider paying to get some traffic or whether to spend more energy developing the blog (which is long overdue a post, I've been on holiday!) |

when there are so many other forms of free marketing 
check out, for example, the homepage movie project where you can register your page for free and get a few clicks by including your personal site into the movie. weird but might work out *g* |

Use Google AdWords, it's easy to set up and I've found it very effective.
I've only just started using it in a small way, but it's already driving nearly 200 visitors a day to my blog.
And it is always nice to have visitors...
There's an article on my blog that deals with this very topic, if you feel like dropping by sometime.
