Look for blog some it is mandatory that you have RSS enabled.I haven't tried blog some though.For blogspot i.e if you are using blogger it isn't mandatory to have wordpress.You could go and submit your blogpage to major directories.Eitherwise you could get a technorati account for your self and claim your blogpost.You could also try submitting it to social book marking sites like Digg and de..li..ci..ous.They have high traffic and are cached regularly by SE's crawlers.That might help you to optimize your blog successfully online.

You also should submit your site to as many search engines as possible. WebCEO is a good free program for doing this - It submits automatically to a long list of search engines, plus makes it easy to manually submit to sites like Google and Yahoo that don't take automatic submissions. It takes a little time to learn to use the program, but it is still a lot quicker than manually submitting to all those sites. You can download WebCEO here:

Blogspot and Blogsome are not the best bloghosting.
They can delete your blogs anytime... like what they did to my blogs.
first i got on blogsome:
deleted without email noticed.
2nd in Blogspot:
deleted lastweek without email noticed.
The best way to ensure is having your own domain.
