When i do a search of my blog it appear at the top, but only a hand full of other sites come up. Is that good or bad?

sometimes, the SERP of a search engine depends on how many pages of your blog ranks in the SE. If you got 3 pages appearing at the search of your blog, means that you got 3 ranking pages in that SE

I'm not sure I completely understand your question? You don't have any backlinks in Google. You should get some websites linking to you. Using the Linkdomain: command you have 45 links in Yahoo.
