This is a question that comes up frequently. Create some posts labeled with what you want the pages to be: About Us, Contact, Links etc

Then change the time stamp on the page to the past.

Now add the links to those posts to your template or sidebar.

Thanks for this, Rose. I tried the Wordpress site before switching to Blogger, and adding a page was easy in Wordpress, but I had not until now found a way to do it on Blogger.

Wordpress does make this easy. Maybe at some point Blogger will too.

Hey Rose, this is great, I didn't even know you could to do this let alone how!

Quick follow-up question; how far in the past should you time-stamp? Or doesn't it matter?

Hi just wanted to thank you again for this info Rose, I know its been ages since the thread but even so. I apologise for not being as active on these forums as at the beginning of the year. I am studying in Australia and have severely restricted Internet access, in addition I am also ploughing throught the third year of a physics masters degree so don't have an awful lot of free time!

I just wanted to add that this method also allows you to pad out your archives from time to time, I have a few months with very few posts due to travelling and am working on posts at the moment to try and bring all of my previous blogging months up to double figures and endeavour to keep this up in all future months!

Hello Rose,

I hope you are describing what I am looking for. Could you provide us with a screenshot of how it would look like?

Also, I could set the date back to the past. But how do I add the links to those posts to my template or sidebar??

Thanks!
Jazz

I posted this in the General forum but I'll post it here as it's probably a better place for it!

To change the time stamp on a post, go in to edit it as normal, then click on the little "post options" link on the bottom left of the editing window, this brings up options where you see the post time and date - you can change it manually from there.

To add the link to the sidebar, go to the post you want to use and copy the URL from the address bar, then go into your layout and Add a Page Element - you can use the Link List type, or you can pick HTML/JavaScript if you prefer to do it yourself. Just paste in the URL of the page you want to link to.

To do it manually with the HTML/JavaScript page element, put this code in, with your own URL and description text:

Code:
<a href="http://yourblog.blogspot.com/yourarticle.html">LINK TEXT</a>

Jazz, as all said you add them to an html/javascript widget.

Here is a screen cap.

You can of course move those links to where you want them.

Alltruism thank you for your help.
