I like doing memes, but I don't have a set schedule of when I post them. I just post them whenever I have them ready. Here's one I'd like to share with members of this forum. Sort of a getting to know you meme. You can either leave your answers here, or post it on your blogs. Just make sure you leave us a link here so we can visit your blog to read your answers. Here goes:
TEN RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME
1. I'm unimaginative so I'm shamelessly copying from others who have done this meme already.
2. Like Rowena, I enjoyed writing letters and having numerous pen pals as a teen ager. I had pen-pals from all over the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
3. As a teen-ager I read Tiger Beat magazine, and I am one of the ten people who will admit to still remember who Leif Garrett is and my first teen idol crush was James at 15 star Lance Kerwin (I wonder whatever happened to him?).
4. As a teen-ager I used to roller skate in Venice Beach (the then "roller skating capital")every weekend. Don't get the idea that I was one of the show skaters. I was on skates, I looked cute, and I was there, that was it. Refer to the 7 meme where I said I was a klutz.
5. Like Stel who also has secret aspirations as singer and dancer (I did win a dirty dancing contest once, but I prefer to forget about it ). I have secretly fantacized being a lounge crooner seductively sprawled on top of a grand piano, akin to Michelle Pfeiffer in the Fabulous Baker Boys.
6. Like Iska who tagged me for this meme, I was also a member of my high school choir despite my lack of singing ability. My friends almost knocked themselves off their chairs laughing when I got up on stage with the choir during our graduation ceremony.
7. I don't like whiners and sick people (especially sick people who whine). Not that I'm a cold hearted person or anything like that, I am just not very nurturing I guess. I found out this personal quirk three years into nursing school. Great time to find out, eh? Needless to say, I am not a nurse.
8. As if it's not enough that I'm unimaginative, I am also not at all artistic. So I did the next best thing and married an artist. I have no inclination to decorate for instance. My husband is in charge of any decor in our house.
9. My inability to decorate my surroundings extend to my body. I am so not into fashion. Clothes, jewelry, shoes and other doo-dads most women gush over is just not important to me; I clothe myself to spare others from having to look at me naked. I wear what I have or what is gifted to me, I don't worry much about labels or name brands.
10. Since I am not wont to spend money on decorations of any kind, I spend money on travel, books, and FOOD. I'll spend big money on a nice meal before I spend the same amount on doo-dads. And yes, I will travel for food. _________________ JMom8
