I see that in order to move my blog to my own FTP site, I need to change to a classic template. Once it is there, can I just change it back? I've got the blog looking the way I want it to, and don't want to have to start all over again.
Thanks |

Hello ojhaslam,
When you say move your blog, do you mean to your own domain name but yet the content is still hosted at blogger?
If its hosted at blogger - but your using your own domain name I don't see why you need to change?
All thats required to get your blogspot blog hosted on your own domain can be found here http://www.bloggertalk.net/ftopicp-5472.html#5472
If so, you can switch to a classic template make the changes and switch back, however backup your template before making any changes so you can easily revert back.

Hi shawn.
I'm already using my own domain name, with the blog hosted on Google's servers. I want to move the whole thing to new servers, with my domain name pointing at that.
I've noticed google's servers getting slower, that's the only reason. |

Ok gotya, then all you need to do is login to your web hosting account and follow these instructions to create a CNAME for it to work with Blogspot...
Read the last reply...and just follow the steps...

If your not comfortable with doing this contact your hosting provider and they can make the changes for you.

It already works like that. I want it to work with another server. So I can move off blogspot and onto another server. |

Example WordPress?
No matter how you switch the CNAME the software that loads your blog will still be Blogspot.

But there's the option to move to your own ftp in blogger dashboard, so long as you're on a classic template.... |

Yes I have.
The thing that worries me is it says I have to use a classic template. What I want to know is this: Can I change it back to my current template once it's moved over, or am I stuck with the classic one?
Thanks |
