To add a Google sitemap to a blogger account, login to your sitemap account. At the top of the screen you will see the option to add your blog. Paste the URL of your blog where it says Add Site:
Next click on the ok button. You will then receive a confirmation message that your blog has been added to your account.
Next you will be required to verify your blog ownership. You cannot upload a sitemap to the public-html of blogger so choose add a META tag to your site’s index file from the drop down window.
Copy the Meta tag listed and paste it into the < head > section before the < body > of your blog template.
Once you have done this, in your sitemap account click the box that reads I’ve added the META tag in the home page of http://yourblogaddress.blogspot.com
Click on the verify button.
You when then receive this message:
We may not know about all the pages of your site. Submit a Sitemap to tell us more about your site.
Click on the submit a sitemap to add your site feed which is the atom url of your blog.
Click on add a sitemap link:
It then reads: You can add a Sitemap to your account to provide us with additional information about your site. We will process your Sitemap and provide information on any errors in the Sitemaps tab.
Choose Add General web sitemap from the drop down menu.
Now add the atom feed url of your blog into where it says My Sitemap URL is:
Then click on add sitemap and you are done.
You have now just added a sitemap to your Blogger blog.

| Should I use the Google Sitemap generator program with a blogger account? I am in beta blogger (now called new blogger) and I don't know enough about python to know if I can use the google sitemap generator. Any advise is appreciated. |

Not sure what you mean by that. I don't choose to include each Blogger-created blog post .html page in my sitelist, but CoffeeCup's Google SiteMapper did find all of those pages when it scoured my site. And I have left the Blogger labels pages in there. While I have not yet done much to dress up the sitemap page or give it the same CSS styles as my other pages, but it is definitely functional.
The .xml file that SiteMapper creates (and is submitted to Google, MSN, & Yahoo!) does include all of the Blogger-created blog post .html pages. _________________ Rob O.
