How do I use Feedburner for my Blog RSS?

Tracking RSS subscriptions with FeedBurner is easy.

Go to feedburner.com

- You'll see 'Ready to burn your feed? Type your feed or blog URL here.'
- Enter your blog address and click "Next."
- The next page will ask you to Identify your Feed Source and that will all depend on what blog platform you're using. I use Wordpress on my own domain, so I was given three choices. If you're using Blogger Beta you'll be given two choices.
- Select your feed and click on next.
- On the next page, you'll be asked to 'Give your feed its title and feedburner.com address.
- Once you have done this the next step is to create an account.
- Once you have created an account click on next.
- Click on "activate my feed'
-Once you've created your feed, you'll be taken to a page that says 'Congrats! Your FeedBurner feed is now live. Want to dress it up a little?'
-Click on the link that says 'Skip directly to feed management.'
- If you want to add subscribe to buttons, click on Publicize and then Chicklet Chooser.

Chicklet Chooser

- Choose the graphic that you want
-Copy the HTML to paste into your template. If you are using blogger you can add the code to a page element.

Feed Count

There are also other things that you can choose like "FeedCount." Feedcount is a color button that displays your feed's current circulation. This is great to add if you have a large number of subscribers to your blog.

Headline Animator

You can create and customize an animated banner that you can add to forums. The banner loads your feed's five most recent posts.

Add a Creative Commons button to your blog with feedburner.

Protect your feed with a required username and password using HTTP authentication.

That's all there is to getting started with FeedBurner.

For those of you using 'Wordpress', there is a WordPress Feedburner plugin called Feedburner Feed Replacement. You can Download the WordPress Feedburner plugin created by Steve Smith here.
