After reading your suggestions for my blog, I have decided to move it to a new location at Wordpress.com I like the look of it much better there and there seem to be more features for me to work with.
Many thanks.
I included the address as part of my signature. I Hope that will not be bothersome. If it is, let me know, and I will remove it.

A domain name is a web address that you can purchase for your web site. When you have your own domain name, the address of your web site is yoursite.com. EX: Bloggertalk.net
Two benefits are flexibility & credibility. Once your new site is up and WordPress is installed, you can install themes, plugins etc
Wordpress is an excellent blog platform.
With your own domain if you're not happy with the hosting, you can backup your blog and move. LOL
You can also install forum software if you ever wanted to have a forum on philosophy.
I have my blog hosted on a sub domain. rosedesrochers.todays-woman.net.
Someone on Google groups just had a bad experience. He found his blog hosted on blogspot closed. 
By the way, you can also host more than one blog on your own domain. I have my daughter's blog and mine hosted on my domain.
