OK, I'm trying to get these tag things exactly the way I want, but I'm having a bit of trouble. As you can see on the main page now (on the right side lower down), there are tags that are done through del.icio.us but they're messed up a bit.
The first thing that's wrong is when I go to tag something after making a post, I can't make a two word tag, since they won't stay together in the cloud. The only way I can get them to stay together is with a dash in between, which doesn't look good and messes up results at del.icio.us. Is there something I'm missing?
The second thing I'd like to do is have it so when someone book marks it on del.icio.us, it goes there, but if someone clicks one of the tags in the cloud, it doesn't go to del.icio.us, but a new section on my site that lists all of the posts under that tag. And example of this can be seen here (just scroll down a bit to see the tags).
I don't even know if you can do it with del.icio.us, but I'd like to know how I can.
Edit: Also, the tags are all messed up when viewed in IE. |

I sort of got it. As you can see on my site on the right, the tags look beautiful, lol:
www.think-theory.com
I'm using this tagging plugin:
http://sw-guide.de/wordpress/wordpress-plugins/simple-tagging-plugin/
The way it works is when I'm posting something, right under the post body, there is a tagging bar where I can enter tags. The tags show up on the main site in the sidebar but they also go to Technorati. However, when you click one of the tags in the sidebar, it's supposed to bring you to another page and show all of the posts that have that tag. However, you can see that if you click on of my tags I get this:
Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.
Now, this site has the exact same plugin as I do because I asked him where he got his:
www.unscripted360.com
You can see that if you click one of the tags there, a page comes up with all posts that have that tag. I just don't understand why mine isn't doing that. |

Actually, it's working now, as you have point out. Before, nothing would show up, but now it does. I didn't change anything since I tried it earlier, either. Weird stuff.
Edit: Actually, I was just looking in IE7 to see what the main page looked like in it, and there's a slight problem. There are these weird bards or blocks (whatever they are) that are in the tag cloud. As well, just below the tag cloud, the two headers are messed up. Any idea of how I can fix this so it looks normal in IE7?
This is the link to the plugin:

This is all going to get a lot easier for people soon as the next major release of wordpress is likely to contain a native tagging engine, and it will simply be a matter of linking into the api to pull the tags out of the core code.
Christine has already announced the final version of UTW, but che plans to write some plugins for displaying the native tagging information in the future versions. |
