Having subscribed to a number of blogs here, I wonder if it is possible to be notified when a new blog has been posted so that we can go there and see the latest post, knowing there will be new material for us to view? In addtion, I need to make my site RSS friendly it appears. I will have to investigate that. If anyone has a shortcut on that, let me know. icon_biggrin.gif

You can download a free feed reader from here - http://www.feedreader.com/

I use this one and like it for it's simplicity (and cause it's free). Simply add the feeds of the blogs you want to check and when you want to check for new posts simply click one button and it checks all the blogs you've added for new posts.

I have noticed v3.05 in there but be careful as I think that's a BETA. The v2.90 one is what I use.

Downloaded the version you suggested. Came in as a Zip File. When opened, there isn't anything to "install" like a program, just a lot of files.

Any guidance?

Sounds like you've downloaded the source code. Download the one from the Download Feedreader 2.9 from SourceForge link on the download page.

Ignore the one that says Download Feedreader 2.9 source code from SourceForge as that's no good to you unless you can program.

I've downloaded the program itself, but now comes more learning curve. I used my site firs, but apparently, my site is not set up for RSS feed, so this means I take it, that in order to see updates from other blogs, they must be set up in a fashion that allows this program to detect changes, i.e. new postings. So this brings me to the inevitable topic on how to set a site up (mine) so that future updates will be noted by those on the look-out for them.

Incidentally, thanks for the info. A little slow on the uptake here, but actually, not a bad student, once you give me some pointers. icon_biggrin.gif

Fixed. Thanks. I removed all of the feeds that come with the program and can now receive feeds from bloggers here. Took only a sec to figure it out. See, you have a good student ! icon_biggrin.gif

Scottish Blogger,

It appears I have only been able to RSS my own site by adding the term /feeds as an extension. I tied to do that with your site with no success. There must be different forms of the address that have to be entered in order to receive those RSS feeds. I'd like to have on for your site so I can keep up with your latest posts. Can you assist?

Will do. Apparently I need to simply drop the "s" on feed. Thanks. I enjoy reading the site.
