I use Wordpress. Does it even allow for anonymous commenting? I haven't changed the defaults -- comment stays in moderation cue until I approve it. _________________ done but with errors |

I've checked "Comment author must fill out name and e-mail", which I guess means anonymous, because people don't have to put in a real email address. I don't have to worry too much about spam because Akismet catches most of it. _________________ http://lifewithaguidedog.info |

Well it does because anyone can use a false email address.
I do not allow anonymous comments. I believe that if someone has something to say about something I've written, then they should stand behind their statement. I have in the past published a couple anon comments, but most anon comments I have received in the past have little value. I do believe it is up to the blog owner to make the ultimate call. _________________ Help Support Blogger Talk Blogging Community|

I currently allow "anony" comments. I have debated this many times. I moderate my comments so I keep the spam and the nasty one's off the site. However, I have debated turning off the anony comments for two reasons:
1) It seems people are willing to be a little more "mean spirited" when they hide behind anonymous. I know anyone can create a fake ID in here, but most people try to keep their id presentable.
2) For a logistics reason. I have had a couple of post that got more than one anonymous poster. It became a little confusing to tell the two apart.
I still allow anonymous post on my site. However, at any moment I might change my mind on that. |

| Yep, I allow them. I don't generally have controversial posts that comments would need to be 'backed' by a real person and I don't have a huge problem with spam yet, so I'm doing fine allowing anonymous comments. |

I've had to delete a few but if they are real comments I leave them _________________
